RIP NIKKI SUDDEN
i'm really sad to hear that NIKKI SUDDEN passed away last sunday.
when i was about 18 years old he became one of my favorite singer/songwriters.
i own most of his records which had always been true companions to my teenage angst and sorrows...
i met him quite often during those years at forum enger or at the bad club in hannover and we shared some nice conversations and a couple of drinks. he might not have been the greatest artist but he had this special way of touching me through his music and especially with his lyrics and his strange charismatic voice. whatever he did - starting with the SWELL MAPS, continuing with THE JACOBITES or just performing on his own - he always stayed truly original, he just couldn't be copied.
rest in peace dear friend and don't forget to bring your velvet suit, your suede shoes and your glittering scarfs up with you to heaven...
